The Hive

The Hive is a vibrant, multipurpose space at the heart of the school. In the mornings, it welcomes students to the Breakfast Club, offering a nourishing start to the day in a warm, inclusive environment. At lunchtime, it transforms into a hub for creativity and play, hosting engaging activities that foster friendship and fun. The Hive also serves as a dedicated space for parents and the wider community. With its welcoming atmosphere and versatile design, The Hive nurtures a sense of belonging for everyone who enters.

Wardliparri Kuu

The Wardliparri Kuu, is a dedicated Aboriginal learning space at Burton Primary School. It celebrates First Nations culture, knowledge, and connection to Country. Designed to inspire curiosity and respect, the room features vibrant Indigenous artwork, cultural artifacts, and storytelling areas. The Wardliparri Kuu fosters inclusivity, empowering all students to appreciate Australia’s rich Aboriginal heritage. A peaceful and welcoming environment, it serves as a bridge to understanding, offering hands-on experiences that connect children with the world’s oldest living culture.

Resource Centre

Our Resource Centre boasts a vast array of reading materials, catering to a wide range of interests and reading levels. Students have the opportunity to visit this inviting space with their classes once a week, where they can explore the collection and borrow books to take home. This regular access encourages a love of reading and supports literacy development, allowing students to immerse themselves in new worlds and ideas beyond the classroom.

Oval

Our oval is a spacious and dynamic area that hosts a variety of activities, including physical education classes, sports day events, and our end-of-year concert. This large oval is well-equipped with a marked soccer pitch and football oval, providing an excellent venue for both structured sports and community gatherings. It is a cherished part of our school, offering students and families a place to come together.

Gymnasium

Our gym is a versatile space that serves as a hub for physical education, school assemblies, and special events like graduations. It is thoughtfully designed and line-marked for various sports, including volleyball, basketball, and indoor soccer, providing students with ample opportunities to engage in diverse physical activities. This multifunctional facility plays a vital role in our school community, supporting both the physical development and the celebratory moments of our students.

Playgrounds

Our playgrounds at Burton Primary School are beloved by our students, offering vibrant spaces for play and exploration. We have two main playgrounds, affectionately known as the ‘new’ and the ‘old’ playgrounds. Each provides unique equipment and opportunities for imaginative play, making them popular spots during recess and lunch.
